California High School Basketball - El Capitan thwarts Ripon

January 3, 2025: Merced, CA 95348

The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the El Capitan Gauchos (Merced, CA) and the visiting Ripon Indians (Ripon, CA), observed El Capitan's basketball team knock off Ripon by a score of 64-50.

The Gauchos (14-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Gregori (Modesto, CA). The Jaguars come into the non-league challenge with a 7-6 record. In their last challenge, Gregori was knocked off by Bradshaw Christian (Sacramento, CA), 59-57, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Indians encounter the Hughson Huskies (Hughson, CA) in a game, on Wednesday, January 8. Ripon will attempt to move on its 6-9 season record. The Huskies go into the game with a 2-7 record after their 79-37 non-league loss to Bradshaw Christian (Sacramento, CA).
