The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the River Forest Ingots (Hobart, IN) and the host Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN), observed River Forest's basketball team edge Kankakee Valley by a score of 51-48.

The Ingots (5-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Calumet New Tech (Gary, IN). The Warriors come into the Greater South Shore challenge with a 2-7 record.

Next up, the Kougars meet the Munster Mustangs (Munster, IN) in a Northwest Crossroads battle, on Friday, January 9. Kankakee Valley will attempt to advance on its 2-7 season record. The Mustangs enter the battle with a 2-7 record after their 53-52 non-league loss to Lighthouse College Prep Academy (Gary, IN).
