Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Washburn Rural Blues (Topeka, KS) and the visiting Blue Valley Tigers (Stilwell, KS), saw Washburn Rural's basketball squad hold off Blue Valley by a tally of 62-59.

With the victory, Washburn Rural improves its record to 5-8 on the campaign. The Blues travel to Emporia (Emporia, KS) to confront the Spartans in a Centennial challenge on Friday, February 2.
