In Tuesday's league match, the host American Prep WV Eagles basketball team scored a tight 28-23 triumph over the Merit Preparatory Academy Knights.

In their next game, the Eagles meet the Rockwell Marshals (Eagle Mountain, UT) in a 2A Region 16 match, on Thursday, February 1. American Prep WV will attempt to move on its 7-7 season record. The Marshals enter the match with a 14-6 record after their 55-20 league win over Utah Military Academy - Camp Williams (Lehi, UT).

With the defeat, Merit Preparatory Academy moves to 7-15 on the year. The Knights travel to Intermountain Christian (Salt Lake City, UT) to meet the Lions in a 2A Region 16 match on Saturday, February 3. The Lions enter the match with a record of 10-4.
