New Mexico High School Basketball - Clayton crushes Maxwell
January 30, 2024: Maxwell, NM 87728 Clayton Yellowjackets (Clayton, NM) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Maxwell Bears (Maxwell, NM), 55-22 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Clayton upgrades its record to 13-7 on the season. The Yellowjackets host Texico (Texico, NM) to clash with the Wolverines in a 2A District 6 bout on Thursday, February 1. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 6-11. Texico lost 29-21 in their recent non-league bout against Melrose (Melrose, NM)
Next up, the Bears clash with the Roy/Mosquero Longhorn (Roy, NM) in a A District 5 bout, on Thursday, February 1. Maxwell will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record. The Longhorn go into the bout with a 16-1 record after their 57-25 league win over Cimarron (Cimarron, NM).
