January 30, 2025: Ramona, SD 57054 The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Elkton/Lake Benton Elks (Elkton, SD) and the host Oldham-Ramona/Rutland Rutland (Ramona, SD), observed Elkton/Lake Benton's basketball team overwhelm Oldham-Ramona/Rutland by a margin of 60-39.
The Elks (10-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Great Plains Lutheran (Watertown, SD). The Panthers come into the A Region 2 challenge with a 3-8 record. In their last challenge, Great Plains Lutheran was trounced by Florence/Henry (Florence, SD), 58-36, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Rutland battle the Howard Tigers (Howard, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 3. Oldham-Ramona/Rutland will attempt to better on its 2-12 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 10-3 record after their 58-31 league win over Ethan (Ethan, SD).
