In Thursday's league contest, the host Arcola Purple Riders basketball team scored a big 57-23 triumph over the Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon Knights.

The Purple Riders (16-8) will now prepare for their contest against Marshall (Marshall, IL). The Lions go into the non-league contest with a 13-11 record. In their last battle, Marshall walloped Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine (Oblong, IL), 64-22, in a non-league battle.

The Knights now own a 0-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Okaw Valley for a Lincoln Prairie battle on Thursday, February 6.
