Louisiana High School Basketball - Live Oak thwarts Ascension Catholic
January 31, 2024: Watson, LA 70706 The Live Oak Eagles (Watson, LA) basketball knocked off the visiting Ascension Catholic Bulldogs (Donaldsonville, LA), 72-54 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Eagles (16-7) will now prepare for their test against Walker (Walker, LA). The Wildcats go into the 5A District 5 test with a 13-15 record. In their last test, Walker went down by University Lab (Baton Rouge, LA), 57-50, in a non-league test.
The Bulldogs now own a 8-12 record. They play next when they host Ascension Christian for a 1A District 8 test on Friday, February 2. Ascension Catholic will encounter a squad coming off a 80-50 league win over St. John (Plaquemine, LA). The record now stands at 13-12.
