Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Chestnut Ridge overwhelms Somerset
January 31, 2024: New Paris, PA 15554 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Chestnut Ridge Lions (New Paris, PA) and the visiting Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY), saw Chestnut Ridge's basketball squad wallop Somerset by a count of 87-34.
With the victory, Chestnut Ridge upgrades its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Lions host Bald Eagle Area (Wingate, PA) to play the Bald Eagles in a Laurel Highlands challenge on Friday, February 2. The Bald Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 8-10. Bald Eagle Area lost 81-47 in their recent league challenge against Bishop Guilfoyle (Altoona, PA)
Next up, the Briar Jumpers play the Southwestern Warriors (Somerset, KY) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, February 2. Somerset will attempt to upgrade on its 14-7 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 10-11 record after their 59-53 league win over Somerset Christian (Somerset, KY).
