The Vanguard Knights basketball squad (Ocala, FL), was crushed 53-16 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Hawthorne Hornets (Hawthorne, FL)

With the victory, Hawthorne advances its record to 11-3 on the year. The Hornets travel to Cedar Key (Cedar Key, FL) to meet the Sharks in a non-league battle on Tuesday, February 4. The Sharks enter the battle with a record of 4-15.

The Knights now own a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Springstead for a non-league battle on Thursday, February 6. Vanguard will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 52-28 non-league win over Hernando (Brooksville, FL). The Eagles record now stands at 19-5.
