Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Holy Ghost Prep can't hold off Penn Wood
January 31, 2025: Lansdowne, PA 19050 Penn Wood Patriots (Lansdowne, PA) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds (Bensalem, PA), 51-49 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Penn Wood advances its record to 3-1 on the year. The Patriots host Chester (Chester, PA) to face the Clippers in a non-league match on Tuesday, February 4. The Clippers enter the match with a record of 3-0.
The Firebirds now own a 1-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Council Rock South for a non-league match on Saturday, February 1. Holy Ghost Prep will face a Golden Hawks squad coming off a 72-68 non-league win over Council Rock North (Newtown, PA). The Golden Hawks record now stands at 13-2.
