January 4, 2022: Coos Bay, OR 97420 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Marshfield Pirates (Coos Bay, OR) and the visiting Newport Cubs (Newport, OR), saw Marshfield's basketball squad overcome Newport by a tally of 42-25.
With the victory, Marshfield improves its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Hidden Valley (Grants Pass, OR) to confront the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 7. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 4-3. Hidden Valley won 32-31 in their recent non-league challenge against Illinois Valley (Cave Junction, OR)
Next up, the Cubs confront the Sisters Outlaws (Sisters, OR) in a 4A Oregon West challenge, on Tuesday, January 18. Newport will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record.
