Mt. Vernon Marauders (Fortville, IN) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN), 55-24 in a league bout.

With the win, Mt. Vernon upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Marauders host Greenfield-Central (Greenfield, IN) to play the Cougars in a bout on Friday, January 6. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 7-0. Greenfield-Central won 37-10 in their recent non-league bout against Rushville (Rushville, IN)

Next up, the Trojans play the Rushville Lions (Rushville, IN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. New Castle will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 37-10 non-league loss to Greenfield-Central (Greenfield, IN).
