January 4, 2023: New Orleans, LA 70124 The Mt. Carmel Cubs tipped the visiting Newman Greenies basketball team by a final score of 41-38 in Wednesday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Cubs face the West Jefferson Buccaneers (Harvey, LA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, January 7. Mt. Carmel will attempt to move on its 12-4 season record. The Buccaneers enter the game with a 6-6 record after their 61-25 non-league loss to Amite (Amite, LA).
With the defeat, Newman moves to 11-3 on the year. The Greenies travel to St. Mary's Academy (New Orleans, LA) to face the Cougars in a 2A District 10 game on Saturday, January 7. The Cougars enter the game with a record of 5-11. St. Mary's Academy lost 57-24 in their recent non-league game against Northshore (Slidell, LA)
