Iowa High School Basketball - Van Buren County nudges Columbus
January 4, 2024: Keosauqua, IA 52565 Van Buren County Warriors (Keosauqua, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Columbus Wildcats (Columbus Junction, IA), 59-56 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Van Buren County upgrades its record to 3-7 on the season. The Warriors travel to Columbus (Waterloo, IA) to clash with the Sailors in a North Iowa Cedar - East bout on Thursday, January 4. The Sailors go into the bout with a record of 2-5. Columbus lost 66-54 in their recent non-league bout against Dunkerton (Dunkerton, IA)
Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Hillcrest Academy Ravens (Kalona, IA) in a SEI - North bout, on Friday, January 5. Columbus will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Ravens go into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 72-35 league loss to Winfield-Mt. Union (Winfield, IA).
