South Winneshiek Warriors (Calmar, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Lanesboro Burros (Lanesboro, MN), 42-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, South Winneshiek upgrades its record to 5-6 on the season. The Warriors host Clayton-Ridge (Guttenburg, IA) to clash with the Eagles in a Upper Iowa bout on Friday, January 5. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 4-6.

Next up, the Burros clash with the Mabel-Canton Cougars (Mabel, MN) in a A Section 1 bout, on Thursday, January 4. Lanesboro will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record.
