January 4, 2024: Wheeling, IL 60090 The Thornton Fractional North Meteors (Calumet City, IL) basketball nipped the host Wheeling Wildcats (Wheeling, IL), 44-37 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Meteors (10-8) will now prepare for their test against Schaumburg (Schaumburg, IL). The Saxons go into the non-league test with a 16-3 record. In their last test, Schaumburg got by Saint Ignatius College Prep (Chicago, IL), 52-41, in a non-league test.
The Wildcats now own a 6-12 record. They play next when they travel to Buffalo Grove for a Mid-Suburban - East test on Monday, January 8. Wheeling will encounter a Bison squad coming off a 51-30 non-league loss to Mundelein (Mundelein, IL). The Bison record now stands at 1-17.
