California High School Basketball - Escondido can't hold off Chula Vista
January 4, 2024: Chula Vista, CA 91911 The Chula Vista Spartans basketball team scored 36 points and restricted the visiting Escondido Cougars to 35 in the Spartans non-league victory on Thursday.
The Spartans now sport a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Sweetwater for a contest on Wednesday, January 10. Chula Vista will battle a Red Devils team coming off a 36-26 non-league loss to Morse (San Diego, CA). The Red Devils record now stands at 1-12.
The Cougars (8-7) will now prepare for their contest against Orange Glen (Escondido, CA). The Patriots come into the non-league contest with a 1-10 record. In their last contest, Orange Glen was nudged by Point Loma (San Diego, CA), 62-36, in a non-league contest.
