South Carolina High School Basketball - Savannah Country Day holds off Hilton Head Island

In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Savannah Country Day Hornets basketball team scored a close 69-62 triumph over the Hilton Head Island Seahawks.

The Hornets (11-2) will now prepare for their contest against Savannah Christian (Savannah, GA). The Raiders go into the A D1 Region 3 contest with a 5-6 record. In their last contest, Savannah Christian nipped Lake Oconee Academy (Greensboro, GA), 49-42, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Seahawks confront the Bishop England Battling Bishops (Charleston, SC) in a AAAA Region 6 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Hilton Head Island will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record. The Battling Bishops go into the contest with a 7-9 record after their 72-65 non-league loss to Wando (Mt. Pleasant, SC).
