Iowa High School Basketball - Knoxville holds off Newton
January 4, 2025: Knoxville, IA 50138 The Knoxville Panthers basketball team scored 48 points and limited the visiting Newton Cardinals to 45 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Panthers now have a 7-0 record. They play next when they host Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont for a South Central game on Friday, January 10. Knoxville will confront a Rockets team coming off a 64-32 non-league loss to North Mahaska (New Sharon, IA). The Rockets record now stands at 0-8.
With the loss, Newton falls to 5-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Pella Christian (Pella, IA) to confront the Eagles in a Little Hawkeye game on Tuesday, January 7. The Eagles go into the game with a record of 4-3. Pella Christian won 69-51 in their recent non-league game against West Branch (West Branch, IA)
