In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Lanham Christian Lions basketball team scored a big 72-49 win over the Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue Warriors.

The Lions (10-4) will now prepare for their contest against Avalon (Wheaton, MD). The Black Knights come into the Maryland Independent contest with a 5-7 record. In their last contest, Avalon smashed King's Christian Academy (Callaway, MD), 81-68, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Warriors battle the Springdale Prep Lions (New Windsor, MD) in a Metro Private contest, on Monday, January 13. Mt. Zion Prep Academy Blue will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record.
