In Saturday's non-league test, the Mater Academy Charter Lions (Hialeah Gardens, FL) basketball squad trounced the visiting South Miami Cobras (Miami, FL), by a score of 67-27.

Next, the Lions clash with the Doral Academy Firebirds (Doral, FL) in a non-league test, on Wednesday, January 8. Mater Academy Charter will attempt to improve on its 8-8 season record. The Firebirds come into the test with a 8-3 record after their 44-42 non-league loss to Calusa Prep (Miami, FL).
