California High School Basketball - Archbishop Riordan holds off McClatchy

The Archbishop Riordan Crusaders basketball team scored 54 points and limited the host McClatchy Lions to 51 in the Crusaders non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Crusaders now possess a 7-3 record. They play next when they travel to Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory for a West Catholic game on Tuesday, January 7. Archbishop Riordan will confront a Fightin' Irish team coming off a 60-45 non-league win over Lowell (San Francisco, CA). The Fightin' Irish record now stands at 9-1.

With the loss, McClatchy falls to 8-5 on the campaign. The Lions host Kennedy (Sacramento, CA) to confront the Cougars in a Metropolitan Conference game on Monday, January 6. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 10-1. Kennedy won 30-14 in their recent non-league game against Rio Linda (Rio Linda, CA)
