In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Richton Rebels basketball team scored a good 49-31 triumph over the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies.

The Rebels (11-7) will now prepare for their contest against Heidelberg (Heidelberg, MS). The Oilers go into the 2A Region 8 contest with a 12-5 record. In their last contest, Heidelberg topped Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS), 60-38, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Aggies battle the Columbia Wildcats (Columbia, MS) in a 4A Region 7 contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Forrest County Agricultural will attempt to better on its 9-8 season record. The Wildcats go into the contest with a 11-6 record after their 50-38 league win over Sumrall (Sumrall, MS).
