The St. John Paul II Catholic Lions (Avondale, AZ) basketball edged the visiting Salome Frogs (Salome, AZ), 38-37 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Lions now possess a 7-4 record. They play next when they host North Valley Christian Academy for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 7. St. John Paul II Catholic will play a Lions team coming off a 63-26 non-league loss to Seton Catholic (Chandler, AZ). The Lions record now stands at 4-8.
