Illinois High School Basketball - Leo holds off Chicago University
January 5, 2023: Chicago, IL 60637 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Leo Lions (Chicago, IL) and the host Chicago University Maroons (Chicago, IL), saw Leo's basketball squad hold off Chicago University by a tally of 64-62.
With the victory, Leo improves its record to 5-9 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL) to confront the Ramblers in a Chicago Catholic - White challenge on Friday, January 6. The Ramblers come into the challenge with a record of 12-5. Loyola Academy won 56-48 in their recent non-league challenge against Fort Myers (Fort Myers, FL)
Next up, the Maroons confront the Thornton Wildcats (Harvey, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 7. Chicago University will attempt to improve on its 4-7 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 55-50 non-league win over Longwood (Chicago, IL).
