The East Carteret Mariners topped the host West Craven Eagles basketball team by a final score of 71-55 in Friday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Mariners face the Northside - Pinetown Panthers (Pinetown, NC) in a 1A/2A Coastal Plains game, on Tuesday, January 9. East Carteret will attempt to move on its 6-7 season record. The Panthers enter the game with a 11-4 record after their 49-47 non-league loss to Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC).
