Virginia High School Basketball - Patrick County nudges Fort Chiswell
January 5, 2024: Max Meadows, VA 24360 In Friday's non-league outing, the Patrick County Cougars (Stuart, VA) basketball squad edged the host Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA), by a count of 63-57.
The Cougars (2-9) will now prepare for their outing against Alleghany (Covington, VA). The Cougars go into the Three Rivers outing with a 10-3 record. In their last outing, Alleghany held off Carroll County (Hillsville, VA), 66-55, in a league outing.
The Pioneers now hold a 5-6 record. They play next when they host Giles for a Mountain Empire outing on Tuesday, January 9. Fort Chiswell will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 49-42 non-league loss to Craig County (New Castle, VA). The Spartans record now stands at 2-8.
