Texas High School Basketball - Nixon-Smiley crushes Ganado
January 5, 2024: Ganado, TX 77962 Nixon-Smiley Mustangs (Nixon, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Ganado Indians (Ganado, TX), 54-29 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Nixon-Smiley upgrades its record to 12-9 on the season. The Mustangs host Marion (Marion, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A Region IV District 26 bout on Friday, January 12. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 15-5. Marion won 58-45 in their recent non-league bout against Ingram Moore (Ingram, TX)
Next up, the Indians play the Weimar Wildcats (Weimar, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 28 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Ganado will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 8-9 record after their 62-22 league win over Louise (Louise, TX).
