Texas High School Basketball - Itasca fells Olney
January 5, 2024: Itasca, TX 76055 Itasca Wampus Cats (Itasca, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Olney Cubs (Olney, TX), 56-44 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Itasca upgrades its record to 15-5 on the season. The Wampus Cats travel to Frost (Frost, TX) to play the Polar Bears in a 2A Region II District 12 bout on Friday, January 12. The Polar Bears go into the bout with a record of 9-13.
Next up, the Cubs play the Archer City Wildcats (Archer City, TX) in a 2A Region II District 9 bout, on Friday, January 12. Olney will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 7-13 record after their 72-36 non-league win over Chico (Chico, TX).
