Mississippi High School Basketball - Byers tipped by Myrtle
January 5, 2024: Myrtle, MS 38650 The Myrtle Hawks basketball team scored 40 points and held the visiting Byers Lions to 35 in the Hawks league triumph on Friday.
The Hawks now sport a 9-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pine Grove for a 1A Region 2 contest on Tuesday, January 9. Myrtle will meet a Panthers team coming off a 67-35 non-league loss to Walnut (Walnut, MS). The Panthers record now stands at 8-7.
The Lions (3-13) will now prepare for their contest against Lake Cormorant (Lake Cormorant, MS). The enter the non-league contest with a 8-4 record. In their last contest, Lake Cormorant nudged Grenada (Grenada, MS), 57-55, in a league contest.
