January 5, 2024: Sylacauga, AL 35150 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Shelby County Wildcats (Columbiana, AL) and the host Comer Tigers (Sylacauga, AL), witnessed Shelby County's basketball squad nip Comer by a margin of 35-29.
The Wildcats (4-9) will now prepare for their test against Sylacauga (Sylacauga, AL). The Aggies go into the 5A Area 8 test with a 5-10 record. In their last test, Sylacauga got by Lincoln (Lincoln, AL), 53-37, in a non-league test.
The Tigers now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Central of Coosa County for a 2A Area 7 test on Monday, January 8. Comer will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 57-47 league win over Fayetteville (Sylacauga, AL). The Cougars record now stands at 3-3.
