South Dakota High School Basketball - New Underwood nips Lead-Deadwood
January 5, 2024: New Underwood, SD 57761 New Underwood Tigers (New Underwood, SD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers (Lead, SD), 27-23 in a non-league bout.
With the win, New Underwood upgrades its record to 1-5 on the season. The Tigers travel to Faith (Faith, SD) to play the Longhorns in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Longhorns go into the bout with a record of 7-1. Faith lost 49-34 in their recent league bout against Harding County (Buffalo, SD)
Next up, the Golddiggers play the Belle Fourche Broncs (Belle Fourche, SD) in a A Region 8 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Lead-Deadwood will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Broncs go into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 64-36 non-league win over Douglas (Box Elder, SD).
