The Wheatland Pirates basketball team (Wheatland, CA), was overwhelmed 69-26 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Placer Hillmen (Auburn, CA)

The Hillmen now possess a 14-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Ponderosa for a Foothill Valley battle on Tuesday, January 10. Placer will confront a Bruins team coming off a 69-39 non-league loss to Lincoln (Stockton, CA). The Bruins record now stands at 10-7.

The Pirates (2-11) will now prepare for their battle against Twelve Bridges (Lincoln, CA). The Raging Rhinos come into the Pioneer Valley League battle with a 10-6 record. In their last battle, Twelve Bridges trounced Bear River (Grass Valley, CA), 75-40, in a league battle.
