California High School Basketball - El Capitan nips El Cajon Valley
January 6, 2023: El Cajon, CA 92021 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the El Capitan Vaqueros (Lakeside, CA) and the host El Cajon Valley Braves (El Cajon, CA), saw El Capitan's basketball squad hold off El Cajon Valley by a tally of 41-38.
With the victory, El Capitan improves its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Vaqueros host Monte Vista (Spring Valley, CA) to play the Monarchs in a Grossmont - Hills challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Monarchs come into the challenge with a record of 10-4. Monte Vista won 60-45 in their recent non-league challenge against West Hills (Santee, CA)
Next up, the Braves play the Santana Sultans (Santee, CA) in a Grossmont - Valley challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. El Cajon Valley will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Sultans come into the challenge with a 6-11 record after their 54-28 non-league loss to Rancho Buena Vista (Vista, CA).
