Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas (New Smyrna Beach, FL) and the visiting Merritt Island Mustangs (Merritt Island, FL), saw New Smyrna Beach's basketball squad wallop Merritt Island by a tally of 62-36.

With the victory, New Smyrna Beach improves its record to 12-1 on the campaign. The Barracudas host Atlantic (Port Orange, FL) to play the Sharks in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 7. The Sharks come into the challenge with a record of 1-12. Atlantic won 23-21 in their recent non-league challenge against Satellite (Satellite Beach, FL)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Edgewood Red Wolves (Merritt Island, FL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 9. Merritt Island will attempt to improve on its 2-10 season record. The Red Wolves come into the challenge with a 10-0 record after their 39-28 non-league win over Bayside (Palm Bay, FL).
