Cathedral Fighting Irish (El Paso, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Santa Fe Prep Blue Griffins (Santa Fe, NM), 58-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cathedral upgrades its record to 12-11 on the season. The Fighting Irish host Riverside (El Paso, TX) to clash with the Rangers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Rangers go into the bout with a record of 4-13. Riverside won 67-39 in their recent non-league bout against Ruidoso (Ruidoso, NM)

Next up, the Blue Griffins clash with the Mesa Vista Trojans (Ojo Caliente, NM) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Santa Fe Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 4-4 record after their 75-50 non-league win over Penasco (Penasco, NM).
