Nebraska High School Basketball - Centura overwhelmed by Gothenburg
January 6, 2024: Cairo, NE 68824 The Gothenburg Swedes basketball team scored 55 points and restricted the host Centura Centurions to 28 in the Swedes non-league victory on Saturday.
The Swedes now sport a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cozad for a C1 District 11 contest on Thursday, January 11. Gothenburg will battle a Haymakers team coming off a 55-40 non-league loss to St. Patrick's (North Platte, NE). The Haymakers record now stands at 10-2.
The Centurions (0-11) will now prepare for their contest against Doniphan-Trumbull (Doniphan, NE). The Cardinals come into the C1 District 9 contest with a 10-1 record. In their last contest, Doniphan-Trumbull triumphed over Grand Island Central Catholic (Grand Island, NE), 57-22, in a non-league contest.
