The Hartfield Academy (Flowood, MS) varsity basketball team lost Saturday's home non-conference game against Evangelical Christian (Cordova, TN) by a score of 63-62.
The Evangelical Christian Eagles basketball team scored 63 points and restricted the host Hartfield Academy Hawks to 62 in the Eagles non-league victory on Saturday.
The Eagles now sport a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to First Assembly Christian for a Division II-A West District 6 contest on Tuesday, January 9. Evangelical Christian will battle a Crusaders team coming off a 66-37 non-league loss to Central (Little Rock, AR). The Crusaders record now stands at 11-3.
The Hawks (14-5) will now prepare for their contest against Jackson Academy (Jackson, MS). The Raiders come into the MAIS 6A District 1 contest with a 19-1 record. In their last contest, Jackson Academy edged Starkville Academy (Starkville, MS), 63-40, in a non-league contest.
