The Russell Red Devils basketball team scored 72 points and restricted the visiting Ironton Fighting Tigers to 57 in the Red Devils non-league victory on Saturday.

The Red Devils now sport a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lawrence County for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 9. Russell will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 54-51 non-league loss to Magoffin County (Salyersville, KY). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-3.

The Fighting Tigers (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Portsmouth (Portsmouth, OH). The Trojans come into the Ohio Valley contest with a 6-2 record. In their last contest, Portsmouth was defeated by Chesapeake (Chesapeake, OH), 61-53, in a league contest.
