California High School Basketball - Sanger West nudges Mendota

Sanger West Hornets (Fresno, CA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Mendota Aztecs (Mendota, CA), 56-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sanger West upgrades its record to 9-7 on the season. The Hornets travel to Roosevelt (Fresno, CA) to clash with the Rough Riders in a North Yosemite bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Rough Riders go into the bout with a record of 5-9. Roosevelt won 62-56 in their recent non-league bout against Clovis (Clovis, CA)

Coming up next, the Aztecs confront the Dos Palos Broncos (Dos Palos, CA) in a West Sierra battle, on Tuesday, January 9. Mendota will attempt to improve on its 10-6 season record. The Broncos come into the battle with a 3-11 record after their 10-8 non-league win over Tranquillity (Tranquillity, CA).
