South Carolina High School Basketball - Cheraw trounces Anson

January 6, 2024: Cheraw, SC 29520

The Cheraw Braves (Cheraw, SC) basketball crushed the visiting Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC), 55-34 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Braves (9-6) will now prepare for their test against Chesterfield (Chesterfield, SC). The Golden Rams go into the AA Region 5 test with a 11-3 record. In their last test, Chesterfield walloped York Prep (Rock Hill, SC), 52-39, in a league test.

The Bearcats now own a 3-10 record. They play next when they host Monroe for a 2A/3A Rocky River test on Friday, January 12. Anson will encounter a Redhawks squad coming off a 47-29 league loss to Piedmont (Monroe, NC). The Redhawks record now stands at 2-7.
