Mississippi High School Basketball - Blue Mountain tops Walnut
January 6, 2024: Walnut, MS 38683 Blue Mountain Cougars (Blue Mountain, MS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Walnut Wildcats (Walnut, MS), 57-43 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Blue Mountain upgrades its record to 18-1 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Hickory Flat (Hickory Flat, MS) to play the Rebels in a 1A Region 3 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Rebels come into the bout with a record of 10-9. Hickory Flat lost 55-45 in their recent non-league bout against Nettleton (Nettleton, MS)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Belmont Cardinals (Belmont, MS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Walnut will attempt to upgrade on its 10-6 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 14-3 record after their 73-45 non-league loss to Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS).
