January 6, 2024: Sterling, IL 61081 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Byron Tigers (Byron, IL) and the host Sterling Golden Warriors (Sterling, IL), saw Byron's basketball squad overcome Sterling by a tally of 49-39.
With the victory, Byron improves its record to 12-5 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Marengo (Marengo, IL) to confront the Indians in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 8. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 11-7. Marengo won 43-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Genoa-Kingston (Genoa, IL)
Next up, the Golden Warriors confront the Galesburg Silver Streaks (Galesburg, IL) in a Western Big 6 challenge, on Thursday, January 11. Sterling will attempt to improve on its 7-10 season record. The Silver Streaks come into the challenge with a 18-2 record after their 59-32 non-league win over LaSalle-Peru (LaSalle, IL).
