Illinois High School Basketball - Carmel can't hold off Washington
January 6, 2024: Washington, IL 61571 The Washington Panthers basketball team scored 48 points and held the visiting Carmel Corsairs to 41 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Panthers now sport a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Morton for a Mid-Illini contest on Wednesday, January 10. Washington will battle a Potters team coming off a 57-51 league win over Dunlap (Dunlap, IL). The Potters record now stands at 15-4.
The Corsairs (11-7) will now prepare for their contest against Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, IL). The Roadrunners enter the East Suburban Catholic contest with a 12-3 record. In their last contest, Nazareth Academy nudged Joliet Catholic (Joliet, IL), 68-25, in a league contest.
