January 6, 2024: Guthrie, OK 73044 The Newcastle Racers (Newcastle, OK) basketball nipped the host Guthrie Bluejays (Guthrie, OK), 28-25 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Racers (8-4) will now prepare for their test against Kingfisher (Kingfisher, OK). The Yellowjackets go into the Western test with a 6-4 record. In their last test, Kingfisher was tipped by Jones (Jones, OK), 48-34, in a non-league test.
The Bluejays now own a 4-6 record. They play next when they host Elgin for a 5A District 1 test on Tuesday, January 9. Guthrie will encounter a Owls squad coming off a 49-39 non-league loss to Duncan (Duncan, OK). The Owls record now stands at 5-5.
