Iowa High School Basketball - Wilton knocked off by Mercer County
January 6, 2024: Wilton, IA 52778 The Mercer County Golden Eagles basketball team scored 56 points and held the host Wilton Beavers to 43 in the Golden Eagles non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles now sport a 10-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Biggsville West Central for a Lincoln Trail contest on Monday, January 8. Mercer County will battle a Heat team coming off a 48-43 league win over Princeville (Princeville, IL). The Heat record now stands at 11-5.
The Beavers (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against West Branch (West Branch, IA). The Bears enter the River Valley - South contest with a 3-9 record. In their last contest, West Branch was defeated by Northeast (Goose Lake, IA), 59-42, in a non-league match.
