North Boone Vikings (Poplar Grove, IL) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Richmond-Burton Rockets (Richmond, IL), 56-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, North Boone upgrades its record to 5-12 on the season. The Vikings travel to Belvidere (Belvidere, IL) to play the Bucs in a non-league bout on Monday, January 8. The Bucs go into the bout with a record of 10-9. Belvidere won 53-48 in their recent league bout against Freeport (Freeport, IL)

Next up, the Rockets play the Marengo Indians (Marengo, IL) in a Kishwaukee River bout, on Wednesday, January 10. Richmond-Burton will attempt to upgrade on its 2-13 season record. The Indians go into the bout with a 11-8 record after their 40-35 non-league loss to Byron (Byron, IL).
