Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Ventura Cougars (Ventura, CA) and the visiting Westchester Comets (Los Angeles, CA), saw Ventura's basketball squad hold off Westchester by a tally of 53-51.

With the victory, Ventura improves its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, CA) to confront the Dons in a Channel challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Dons come into the test with a record of 3-10. Santa Barbara lost 89-15 in their recent league test against Oxnard (Oxnard, CA)

The Comets now own a 10-4 record. They play next when they host University for a Western test on Monday, January 8. Westchester will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 51-45 non-league win over Marymount (Los Angeles, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-7.
