San Marcos Royals (Santa Barbara, CA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting San Luis Obispo Tigers (San Luis Obispo, CA), 57-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, San Marcos upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Royals host Buena (Ventura, CA) to play the Bulldogs in a bout on Monday, January 8. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 5-3.

Next up, the Tigers play the Arroyo Grande Eagles (Arroyo Grande, CA) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 9. San Luis Obispo will attempt to upgrade on its 12-5 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 16-2 record after their 55-28 non-league win over Righetti (Santa Maria, CA).
